The absolute truth of the Torah: between religions and philosophy

The absolute truth of the Torah teaches that God is one and His word is eternal, in contrast to the multiple interpretations of human religions.

In the famous book The Kuzari , the king abandons idolatry after hearing an inner voice that tells him, "Your will is accepted, but your actions are not." Thus begins a process of searching that leads him to the Torah as absolute truth .

Likewise, Abraham, the patriarch, rejected the worship of the sun and natural elements, coming to the conclusion that there is an invisible and eternal God who governs everything.

Maimonides and the absolute truth of the Torah

According to Maimonides, God gave humanity three foundations:

  • The Torah , divine revelation on Mount Sinai.

  • The Mitzvot , universal and eternal laws.

  • The Messiah , who will bring the final redemption.

Maimonides explained that the Messiah will confirm the absolute truth of the Torah , demonstrating that the commandments are eternal and have not been replaced.

Fidelity to the Torah versus religions and sects

The people of Israel are guided not by isolated miracles, but by the national revelation at Mount Sinai . This faithfulness is reflected in history:

  • The Reformists , who proclaim the Torah irrelevant.

  • The Karaites , who rejected oral tradition.

  • The Quran , which presents teachings influenced by Jewish scribes.

  • The New Testament , which suggests that God broke His word.

All these deviations are seen as departures from the truth revealed in the written and oral Torah .

Martyrdom and resistance in Jewish history

During the Crusades, many Jews gave their lives rather than fall into idolatry. In Yemen, however, Maimonides taught that accepting the "prophet" of Islam at face value was not a betrayal of God, as it maintained an inner faith in divine oneness.

The difference is clear: accepting the Trinity contradicts the absolute oneness of God, while submitting externally under duress to Islam does not imply internal apostasy.

Emuna as a path to the absolute truth of the Torah

The Jewish faith, called Emuna , is not a blind dogma, but a practice of life . It involves:

  • Grow daily spiritually and materially.

  • Ask and investigate without fear.

  • Study the Torah and practice the Mitzvot.

True faith is strengthened by facing doubts and challenges, because no true phenomenon can contradict divine truth .

Faithfulness to the absolute truth of the Torah distinguishes the people of Israel and guides those who seek to live with Emunah.
